Pump Laser System

Tender description

The University has a procurement opportunity for the supply, delivery, and commissioning of a Pump Laser for use by its Faculty of Physical Sciences and Engineering. This system will be installed at the University’s Highfield Campus. This tender invites you to submit your response for a solution which is able to conform to the following specifications. The laser will be procured to replace an existing 8W Coherent Verdi laser. The beam parameters, wavelength and other characteristics of the laser should be suitable for this purpose and therefore demonstrated in all proposals. All prospective suppliers should provide evidence of a successful track record of pumping Mira Titanium Sapphire Lasers producing stable modelocking in both Femtosecond (FS) and Picosecond (PS) mode. Tender proposals should also include suitable references from academic users of their lasers which testify to the systems suitability for this application and the performance of the Mira which can be achieved. Under no circumstances whatsoever will the University of Southampton be liable for or pay any expenses or costs which may be incurred (whether directly or indirectly) by the tenderer in the preparation or submission of their tender proposal. The University of Southampton is not bound to accept the lowest offer or any tender in full or in part. In evaluating the tender, the University will seek the most economically advantageous offers in terms of the criteria listed below: Cost - 20% Technical Spec - 10% Proven Capability - 60% Maintenance - 10% Further Sub-Criteria is detailed within the ITT. Due to the nature of this project it is not deemed suitable to split this requirement in to Lots.
