Provision of Desktop Hardware

Tender description

Manchester City Council are currently completing a complete estate desktop refresh in order to bring our hardware up to date and upgrade our operating system to Windows 7. This has involved replacing circa 5500 devices across 150 locations, incorporating thin clients, desktops, laptops and associated peripherals (although monitors were not upgraded). The majority of the devices deployed (approximately 65%) are Thin Client devices. A procurement process was undertaken to provide equipment for this refresh but that contract is due to expire shortly. Therefore the Council are inviting suppliers to quote on providing equipment as per the above minimum requirements, as well as offering peripheral devices, such as monitors. It is the intention to award this framework for 1 year, with the option to extend for a further year. It is intended to purchase circa 950 laptops against this framework upon award in order to complete a specific project.
