Tender description

The Connected Care initiative is a partnership project involving a range of health and social care providers in Berkshire West. Connected Care is an enablement project designed to bring significant benefits to care recipients by making their information available digitally to health and social care professionals involved in their care. The project vision is described as follows: “To support the delivery of safe, effective and collaborative care, centred around the service user, by ensuring that any professionals and the service user have access, and can contribute to, all relevant and up-to-date clinical and administrative information which relates to their care, from all sources whichever organisation they are working for and whenever and wherever they are working.” Connected Care is a fundamental “information enablement service” that will assist in the redesign and on-going improvement of front line services. The key requirements for the solution can be grouped into four main headings: • Functional (or "end user" requirements) • Operational (or “back office” requirements) • Technical (IT requirements) • Implementation (deployment services) To acquire the required solution we intend to run a competitive procurement, via an appropriate public sector framework agreement, starting in the September 2015 timeframe. Before we finalise our procurement approach and requirements, and before we enter into a formal procurement process, we are looking to invite vendors to one-on-one sessions to review and discuss the following: 1. Solution demo and Q&A session 2. Client side implementation issues – your experience and mitigation strategies 3. Suitable frameworks that can be used to procure solutions (software and services) As you will appreciate there is a limitation in terms of the time available to meet with vendors. Available dates for the sessions are: • 18 June, 15:00 – 16:30 • 25 June, 15:00 – 16:30 • 02 July, 15:00 – 16:30 • 09 July, 15:00 – 16:30 • 23 July, 15:00 – 16:30 • 06 August, 15:00 – 16:30 • 13 August, 15:00 – 16:30 Sessions will be held at: 57-59 Bath Road, Reading, Berks, RG30 2BA. If you are unsuccessful in securing a one-on-one session we would welcome a written submission addressing the three topics above by 13th August. To express an interest, request a one-on-one session, or submit any written comments you must use the In-Tend portal (https://in-tendhost.co.uk/swcsu/aspx/ProjectManage/60). Whilst we will be pleased to receive comments on these points and will consider them in our deliberations we give no commitment that they will from part of our final procurement and decision making process. For the avoidance of doubt we can only access framework agreements that are open to use by NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups.
