Affordable Food Project

Tender description

This project will be an important contribution to Kingston Upon Hull City Council's plans to reduce the cost of food for significant numbers of people within the city and help them to avoid the need for emergency food aid. We would like to invite bids for funding towards the set up costs of a project that will provide the public of Hull with access to food at a cost which is significantly less than is currently offered by local retailers. Bidders are invited to present their ideas on how the allocated money can be used as seed funding to set up an affordable food provision. Bids may come from individual agencies but we would welcome collaborative bids that bring together agencies with complementary skills and experience in this area of work. The contract start date is flexible; we ideally want the service to commence on 1 October 2015 but it could be as late as 31 January 2016, depending on the model being proposed. The contract will run for 12 months.
