TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF A CYTOMETER ANALYSER TO THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

Multiplexed single cell protein analysis by coupled flow cytometry / time-of-flight mass spectrometry is a component of applications made by several Universities to MRC in infrastructure bids for Stratified Medicine. A collaborative structure will be formed by Birmingham, Cambridge, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Southampton Universities. This strategy integrates the expertise /capabilities of the participating universities enabling the seamless coordination of research programmes, training, and a coordinated multipronged approach to research. This approach requires the complete harmonization of the Standard Operating Procedures, sample storage and tracking and data formats. Consequently a high level of compatibility between all of the Universities’ equipment is essential. We require an instrument, reagents and IT software that together can provide x45+ multiplexed single cell protein analysis by coupled flow cytometry / time-of-flight mass spectrometry analysis of human cells. University of Birmingham will mainly be analysing primary samples of human blood and bone marrow from patients with blood cancers and immune mediated inflammatory disease.
