Short Breaks for Children who are Disabled and/or Have Complex Health Needs

Dorset County Council is seeking tenders from suitably experienced and capable service providers for three frameworks for short breaks for children who are disabled and/or have complex health needs in the Western half of Dorset for around 60 families: <b>Lot</b><b> 1 - Service A:</b> Overnight short breaks; <b>Lot</b><b> 2 - Service B:</b> Daytime short breaks sessions every Saturday of the year for up to 12 children, three additional sessions per week during school holidays, and afterschool sessions; <b>Lot 3 - Service C: </b>A range of varied activity sessions (full or half day) and day trips for two days each during school holidays in Autumn and Spring half terms and Christmas holiday for up to 10 children per session (providing a total of * short break hours). This tender relates to specific provision for children and young people aged between 8 years and up to the young person's 18th birthday with complex health needs, a severe learning disability and behaviour which is challenging for carers to manage, including behaviour that poses a risk of harm to the child or others, and/or profound or multiple learning difficulties (including additional physical disabilities and complex health needs). These children and young people will live within Weymouth and Portland, North Dorset and West Dorset. The contracts will cover the period 1 October 2015 to 31 March 2016. We are seeking up to a maximum of Four (4) Service Providers for both Service A (Lot 1) and Service B (Lot 2) who will form preferred provider frameworks, to enable families to have choice. A single provider will be appointed to the framework for Service C (Lot 3).
