The Intercountry Adoption Services: The Service required is one that encompasses enquiry, information as to both intercountry adoption and the Council's need for domestic adopters, counselling, assessment, approval, support both post approval and post placement, compliance with FER 2005 regulations as well as service user feedback. Safeguarding is an overarching requirement in terms of both the children and their employment of staff, along with providing documentation and information required by the Commissioning Authority. The International Assessment Service: * Obtain background information from overseas agencies where required, this to include statutory checks * Advise on services that would be available overseas (for where a child is to be placed overseas) * Complete or arrange the completion of preliminary kinship assessments. This to include statutory checks with local police and social care agencies. * Complete or arrange the completion of full kinship assessments including full statutory checks. * Provide a service that is able to meet timescales as directed by the family proceedings court. * Ensure that all reports provided are quality assured and appropriate for use in family court proceedings. * If required, ensure that the worker completing the preliminary or full assessment report is available to give evidence in the family proceedings court in London be this in person or via video link.
