Tender description

The Joining Up Your Information initiative is a partnership project involving a range of health and social care providers in Gloucestershire. The aim of the Joining Up Your Information project is to bring significant benefits to care recipients by making their information available digitally to health and social care professionals involved in their care. The project vision is described as follows: ‘To support the delivery of safe, effective and collaborative care, centred around the service user, by ensuring that any professionals and the service user have access, and can contribute to, all relevant and up-to-date clinical and administrative information which relates to their care, from all sources whichever organisation they are working for and whenever and wherever they are working. This includes the service user, enabling them to collaborate in the planning and provision of their care.’ Key requirements for the solution are to: • Accurately identify and combine data for a selected service user, from a variety of health and social care IT systems, including correspondence • display real time information in a meaningful and useful way to a range of health and social care professionals and the service user. • configure workflows for specific care pathways/across services • alert relevant care professionals, carers, service users. • provide effective security to ensure patient confidence in the system Key principles of the solution are that it: • Is fast, easy to use (with minimal training) and appropriate to a range of users and tasks • Is available for both static and mobile working. • The care recipient will be able to access and contribute to their information • The solution is flexible to grow and adapt as the environment and requirements for sharing evolve. • Maintains the information quality standards required for effective information sharing • Functionality to support the user to select the right patient To acquire the required solution we intend to run a competitive procurement, via an appropriate public sector framework agreement, during August 2015.
