RHB Cinema Refurbishment

Tender description

Goldsmiths, University of London would like to invite suppliers to bid for the main contract for building works at the grade II listed Richard Hoggart Building. The scope of the project is to refurbish the cinema style lecture theatre at the Richard Hoggart Building up to professional standard and change a storage room in the location into a new WC. The new cinema will seat approx. 110 people and will be used in evenings and at weekends as a professional cinema and during the daytime as a lecture theatre. The work will comprise internal fit out to a high acoustic standard, plumbing and heating, adaptation to the ventilation electrical power, lighting and data cabling work. Tiered seating will be installed by a nominated specialist contractor. AV install will also be nominated and appointed outside the contract. The project will be carried out under very tight time and work restrictions. While the whole time line for the project is from the 16th July until the 5 September some areas will not be available to the contractor before End of June or mid of July. As we are aware of the tight timelines alternative program can be provided as long as the theatre itself will be ready for its core function as a lecture theatre by September.
