Supply Network Switches to the Bernal Building

Tender description

The University of Limerick is seeking proposals to supply network switches for installation in the new Bernal Building currently being completed on campus. The construction of the Bernal Building Project commenced in the summer of 2013 to develop a 7,459m2 facility that will house fully-equipped laboratories to enable teaching & research. The satisfy the network requirements of this highly spec’d research building the network will consist of a 10Gb distribution switch feeding a number of PoE+ and non PoE+ 48 port gigabit switches The current university network backbone consists of a pair of HP 7500 switches feeding distribution closets and the uplink from the new Bernal building will connect to this HP backbone. The University uses HP IMC management platform to manage the network and the proposed solution should be compatible with this management platform.
