SS14 93 Longfield Road Improvement Scheme Landscaping and Maintenance Works

Tender description

Longfield Road Tunbridge Wells improvement scheme received DfT 'Pinch Point' funding to deliver a road project that reduced congestion, improve journey time reliability and generate growth in the area. Site clearance for construction purposes took place prior to commencement; this included an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which was subject to Local Planning Regulations for sympathetic re-planting to encourage returning wildlife. The Landscaping proposals contained within this contract seek to enhance, protect and satisfy the Local planning conditions. The surrounding business units have similar planting schemes that complement the highway landscaping proposals. Works involve a regime of planting and maintenance predominately within the boundary of the highway with some areas to the rear of the footway. All associated works on the highway must comply with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. Allowance has been given within the mobilisation period for the procurement of mature and semi-mature species. A number of tree pits have been included as part of the construction works and therefore only require trees to be planted
