Provision of AV Software for Lapworth Museum

Tender description

The Lapworth Redevelopment Project will turn a University departmental museum into an outward facing fully-accessible public museum that engages with its local communities. It will deliver an outstanding geological museum and heritage asset both for the region and national and provide a unique and greatly enhanced visitor experience based on the extensive and diverse collections, archives and associated information. The core of the museum will be restored to its original Edwardian appearance, building on its characteristic of being one of the few surviving, aesthetically intact museums of this period. At the same time, new display space will be provided and new interpretive methods will be embedded in order to strengthen the learning experience for all users. For the first time, dedicated classroom space will enable a dramatic increase in educational groups of all ages and levels of interest to be able to engage with the collections. This project will provide major improvements regarding access to collections and allow the Lapworth to develop its education, learning and outreach provision and will result in a significant advance in collection management, quality interpretive display and stewardship to ensure the heritage is optimally preserved and understood for future generations.
