Tender description

North Yorkshire County Council provides facilities to householders called household waste recycling centres (HWRCs). All HWRCs accept tyres from local residents in quantities, no greater than four, as household waste. There are seven Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs) in North Yorkshire. They collect flytipped tyres and deliver them directly to the HWRCs, store them at their depots or require separate collections for loads greater than 40 tyres. As a waste disposal authority, North Yorkshire County Council has a responsibility to arrange for the disposal of tyres from the HWRCs and flytipped tyres. The Council is inviting quotations for the provision of a tyre collection service. It is primarily for the collection of tyres from the HWRCs and WCA depots in North Yorkshire. Additionally, the Contractor will be required to provide a 24 hour collection service for flytipped tyres in North Yorkshire.
