The ARTches Project - Alteration & Refurbishment Works

Tender description

Portsmouth City Council (the Council) is seeking to procure a suitably skilled and experienced contractor to undertake the following construction works: 1. Enclosure, refurbishment, services and fit‐out of the arches and internal spaces to form artists workshops, retail, brasserie, interpretation space / display area, management office, meeting room and storage facilities. 2. Relocation and re‐provision of the existing public conveniences including disabled person’s facility. 3. All associated infrastructure, external works and landscaping (including cycle parking). 4. Undertaken in part Scheduled Ancient Monument and part Grade 1 Listed Building. The Council is targeting to have awarded the contract by September 2015 and the successful Contractor will be required to start on site during September 2015 in order to deliver practical completion before the end of June 2016. Estimated value of the construction works is £1.5M. The form of contract utilised will be the JCT Standard Building Contract without Quantities 2011. The deadline for submission of requests for clarification is 29 May 2015 23:59 with the deadline for submission of completed pre-qualification questionnaires following on 8 June 2015 14:00. The Council is targeting to release tender documentation to shortlisted Contractors by 29 June 2015 with the deadline for submission of bids following on 31 July 2015.
