‘DPP is Chembio’s trademarked name for the their LFD test (lateral flow device is the same assay type used for pregnancy tests). This is a qualitative screening test for the detection of antibodies to Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium bovis in Elk / Red Deer, Fallow Deer, and White-tailed Deer serum, plasma or whole blood. The test is used as an aid in the diagnosis of active tuberculosis (TB) in conjunction with other diagnostic methods.’ This is a quick and simple assay (test) type for the detection of antibodies to Mycobacterium bovis in serum. The test will be used at APHA Starcross and Woodchester Park for diagnostic purposes (test code TC0677) and also by the TB research groups at Weybridge. The agency also will offer the test for commercial sale via the APHA Sales Desks (veterinary colleagues in Ireland want to purchase the test from APHA; APHA has distribution rights for the test).’
