Tender description

The University of Limerick wishes to enhance its provision of its materials characterisation. The sample type and characterisation requirements range include active pharmaceutical ingredients, common Pharmaceutical Excipients, metal oxides, composite materials, polymers and metals. Future requirements will focus on newer pharmaceutical materials, liquids and Nano materials as well as the current range. The proposed facilities will offer good sensitivity, a wide temperature range (perhaps in different instruments) as well as modulated scanning (for kinetic and specific heat) and should be capable of accurately measuring e.g. solvation state, decomposition points, phase transition events in various chemicals, mixtures, amorphous dispersions, crystals melts, formulae, polymers, emulsions etc.
