Procurement of IT Data Storage for the EPA

Tender description

The EPA intends to purchase IT data storage, and the necessary associated items for the storage device, as per the requirements listed below. This storage will be housed in the EPA main IT Comms room in its Wexford office. Primary Storage Array Requirements: • Must include (2) controllers/nodes with a minimum of 24GB cache; • Each controller/node must have 2 x 8Gb/second Fibre Channel ports minimum; • Response must state what the IOPS rate is; • Be expandable to 200 drives (minimum); • Have redundant power supplies and fans; • Provide the following raw storage: a. 21600 GB with 6G SAS 10k drives; b. 4800 GB with 6G SAS SSD drives; and c. 54000GB with 6G SAS 7.2K NL drives. • Must be capable and fully licensed for the following software features even in the event of additional storage being added: a. Thin provisioning; b. Automatic storage tiering; c. Adaptive flash case (read); d. Local replication (snaps, clones, etc.); and e. Integration with VMware vCenter for storage provisioning and local replication. • Must have 24/7 support with a 4 hour response time for 5 years on all hardware and software supplied; • Include a management server. This can be physical or virtual (The EPA’s virtual environment is built on VMware); and • Have proactive dial home support. SAN Switch Requirements: • 2 x 8GB Fibre Channel Switches; • 24 port with 8 active ports; and • Single power supply. Backup Server is also required and implementation (see tender for details).
