Tender description
The aim of the Programme is to develop the leadership skills of the young people and increase their knowledge of the Prevent Agenda. The Programme will provide the cohort with the knowledge and confidence to influence other young persons and challenge radicalisation and extremism if necessary. The Programme shall also ensure that the cohort is able to act as an advisory group when requested to do so by the Authority. The Provider shall deliver the following Outputs during the Contract Period: - Engage with and advertise the Programme to all Redbridge secondary schools. - Encourage all schools to nominate and put forward year 11 and year 12 pupils for the Programme selection process. - Particular emphasis to be placed on the schools that have not participated in the previous Redbridge Young Leaders Programmes. - Design and organise a selection process to ensure that applicants who display the most leadership potential are selected for the Programme. The selection process must also ensure that the successful applicants represents a cross section of the population diversity within Redbridge. - Thirty applicants to be selected. - Design and deliver at least twelve leadership training modules, no less than five modules to cover topical subjects connected to the Prevent Strategy. - Organise a three day residential course at an established university. The three days to consist exclusively of prevent related topics including a table top exercise. Counter terrorism experts to be invited to speak. - Provide mentoring to the young leaders to enable them to decide on and promote a personal course to take forward as a legacy from the programme. - Evaluate each module and monitor the progress of the young leaders throughout the programme. - Organise the graduation ceremony for the young leaders at the end of the programme.
