Tender description

The employer requires a Commercial Manager to assist the Supervisor /Project Manager in the commercial management of the £20m + works. This Commercial Manager will be employed as a contractor to the council During the term of this contract, the successful applicant may also be required to assist in the development of other schemes. The successful applicant shall therefore have substantial experience of the delivery of NEC3 construction contracts, especially option C, and the operation of pain / gain and bonus systems, whilst working as a Commercial Manager. The successful applicant shall demonstrate extensive experience of the commercial and claims processes involved in delivery of major construction schemes. The successful applicant shall also have strong commercial experience working on large construction projects. The successful applicant shall demonstrate extensive experience of auditing and interrogating contractor financial systems. As this scheme is delivered by Wakefield Council, and funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, the successful applicant shall have substantial experience of working for a local authority client, along with delivering the audit information required for local authorities and finance providers. Due to the involvement with developing possible future schemes, the successful applicant shall demonstrate experience of estimating the costs of future work at their various stages. Due to the compressed timescales, (the construction contract funding was confirmed, and the contract awarded, on 24th March 2015, with works commencing 6th April 2015) the successful applicant must be available for immediate start.
