Tender description

The four span masonry arch bridge is located in the townlands of Kilteany & Drumanaffrin approximately 4 km west of Bangor, on the Gweesalia – Bangor Local Rd (L– 1206). The bridge is 3.95m wide between parapets at the narrowest point, and spans a length of 29m across the Munhin river, the span measurement of each arch is 5.4m, the piers are 1.35m high and 1.2m wide, the rise to the crown of each arch is 1.8m, the thickness of the arch barrel including the fill is 0.625m, from road level to river bed is approx 3.7m. The parapets are 1m high and 0.45m wide. It is our intention to carry out a structural assessment of the bridge, widen the carriageway, seal the deck, provide a minimum of one footpath and rubbing strip, maintain the aesthetics of the overall structure, and realign the carriageway locally.
