Additional accommodation /extension to John the Baptist Community School

Tender description

PROJECT BRIEF: The project comprises the construction of a permanent standalone structure (which should not be positioned where it will interfere with any future development of the school) consisting of six (6) general classrooms, one (1) science room with prep area and one (1) DCG/Technical Graphics room. The total floor area includes WC’S and circulation space to a maximum of 587 square metres. The above description is indicative of the size and nature of the project but the extent of accommodation to be provided may increase or decrease. Additional accommodation may be added to the brief at the discretion of the Contracting Authority. All additional accommodation added at the discretion of the Contracting Authority is subject to the restrictions as set out in Article 31.4 (a) or Article 31.4 (b) of Directive 2004/18/EC Scope of Work Architect-led Design Team in accordance with the Department of Education and Skill’s Guidance on Procuring Consultants for Small Works (projects with capital value of €1 million or less, 2nd Edition, March 2014). The Scope of Services may be increased or decreased at the discretion of the Contracting Authority and the fee for such increases/decreases will be determined at the Client’s choice in proportion to the increase/decrease in those Services or by the Scheduled Time Charges for changes as specified in Clause 11 of the Conditions of Engagement. Tenderers should note, the requirements in respect of the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations will apply to this project and shall make full provision in their tenders for this requirement.
