RFT for User Research and Website Information Architecture Services

Tender description

(1) To undertake both qualitative and quantitative research with a range of Oireachtas.ie website users (both internal and external) to garner their views, behaviours and needs with regard to information provision and publication. A range of different methodologies may be employed such as focus group research, in-depth interviews, telephone surveys, polls, online questionnaires, etc. (2) To research current activity/behaviour on Oireachtas.ie at a top level. This should involve reviewing analytics for the website (Google Analytics) for recent years. Tenderers must also research and report on best practice across other parliaments in comparable jurisdictions. (3) To specify a new information architecture for a high quality Oireachtas.ie website based on: (a) comprehensive analysis of all current content on the website; and (b) the findings and outputs of the user research conducted. The new IA must map out the key routes to all content and identify content for removal or new content required. A range of methodologies may be considered as part of this process, such as card sorting or participatory design techniques. It is intended that the IA produced during this project will provide a clear blueprint for the future development of the Oireachtas.ie website. (4) To develop and test low fidelity UX prototypes for all major sections/areas of the website. These prototypes should illustrate proposed user journeys within the new website information architecture.
