Tender description

The specification details the requirements for the design, manufacture, supply and installation of a horizontallydeflecting Double Crystal Monochromator (DCM) for use at DLS. The monochromator system should include liquid nitrogen cryogenic cooling and one crystal set. All motors,encoders and limits should be included. The tender document gives detailed technical specifications for the DCM system, guided by the properties of thesource and an assessment of available technology. If the required performance can be met or exceeded usingalternative designs, technologies or materials, then these will not be excluded from consideration as long assufficient information is supplied to justify the proposed solution. If some of the technical specifications cannotbe met then this should be made clear. While it is strongly preferred that all technical specifications be achievedor exceeded, proposals that do not meet every technical specification will not necessarily be rejected.
