Waste Treatment & Disposal Framework 2015

Tender description

North Yorkshire County Council is looking to establish a framework contract to provide facilities for the disposal of waste arising from North Yorkshire; in addition the City of York Council will also have access to facilities accepted onto the framework. The contract waste to be disposed of through this framework is defined as Local Authority Collected Municipal Waste (LACMW) arising from Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs) and Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs). It is expected that through the framework North Yorkshire County Council will dispose of approximately 180ktpa of Contract Waste; the City of York will dispose of approximately 52ktpa of contract waste. Recyclable materials and green waste collected at kerbside by WCAs or collected at HWRCs are not included in this procurement. Waste will be available to providers on the framework as contract waste delivered to facilities as LACMW. The framework will be for a period of four years with a start date of 1.1.2015; under the framework further competition will be held throughout the term. Through the participating Councils up to approximately 232ktpa of waste will be available to the framework; the amount delivered to the facility(s) of the successful bidder(s) will be dependent on the capacity offered per annum and cost.
