DFID 6958 The Business Environment for Economic Development (BEED) Programme

Actual CPV code is ‘75211200 Foreign Economic-Aid Related Services’. DFID is implementing a new Business Environment for Economic Development (BEED) programme. This 4 year programme is intended to improve the support that we and other donors provide on business environment (BE) reforms. Part of this BEED programme will be the creation of a new Business Environment Reform Facility (BERF). This Facility will carry out a number of functions. It will support DFID Country offices to design new business environment programmes, improve existing ones, and more effectively learn and disseminate lessons from DFID and other donor experience. It will commission policy research on less well-researched topics, and those important for effective implementation on the ground. And it will develop innovative approaches for effectively encouraging a broader range of stakeholders (including not only large and small businesses, but also consumers and other affected groups) in articulating demand for reform of key binding constraints, and in designing reform.
