Tender description

ESPO is working on behalf of Leicestershire County Council to undertake a procurement to establish a public contract with a single service provider to deliver a carers’ support service. The service will provide support to people who provide unpaid care for an adult with care needs (who may be a family member, friend or neighbour). The objectives of the service are to: a) promote the wellbeing of carers who have support needs; and b) help prevent, or delay, the development of future support needs for the carer. The service priorities include: facilitation of specific carers groups and forums; improving the identification of, and support for, carers who are currently under represented within services (e.g. carers of adults with learning disabilities); provide good quality, up to date advice and information at the start of a carers caring role. The contract has two year extension option.
