Tender description

The University of Sheffield is out to for the following Structural Experimental equipment to be housed in our new Diamond Building. The Light Structures Laboratory within the Diamond will be used by students from a wide range of disciplines across the Faculty of Engineering, including Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science. The purpose of the Laboratory is the translation of theoretical principles into real-life experiences, and vice versa, to promote both qualitative and quantitative understanding. This tender will be divided into nine (9) Lots: Lot 1-10x Cantilever frame experiment Lot 2-10x Chain (or Cable) suspension Lot 3-10x Arch Lot 4-10x Normal and shear stresses in beams Lot 5-10x Deflection of a beam Lot 6-10x Plastic hinge formation in a beam Lot 7-10x Buckling of struts Lot 8-10x Plastic bending of portals Lot 9-10x Asymmetric bending This is an open EU procurement procedure. The ITT and full specification and supporting documents can be downloaded by registering and expressing your interest on the University's e-tendering system https://in-tendhost.co.uk/Sheffield.
