Provision of Security for Warrington Bus Interchange

Tender description

Warrington Bus Interchange opened in August 2006 and was built in conjunction with the extension and upgrade of the adjoining Golden Square shopping centre. The interchange consists of 19 departure stands, all are served from the main concourse building, which contains toilets, access to the shopping centre, Information Office, Bus Operator Crew Facilities and a coffee shop. There is access to the shopping centre via escalators and lifts. The exits on the eastern side of the building lead onto Winwick Street, on which can be found a taxi rank and Warrington Central Railway Station. The service will comprise of general security to the facility between the hours of 0500 and 2330, 7 days a week and 52 weeks a year, save for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day and subject to statutory control measures as provided by the Data Protection Act 1998 and supported by the Human Rights Act 1998. The Service shall comprise 18.50 hours per day of service provision It is intended that the contract will commence on 1st July 2015 and be for an initial period of three years, with options to extend the contract by two further periods of one year.
