Distribution of Outdoor Food Waste Caddies and Collection of Wheeled Bins

Teignbridge is in south Devon between Exeter and Torquay and the eastern part of Dartmoor. The District covers 260 square miles and has a varied geography and environments ranging from coastal resorts and busy market towns to rural countryside and wild moorland. The District was formed on 1st April 1974 under the Local Government Act. Teignbridge has a population of 125,000, with approximately 59,000 households. Newton Abbot is the largest settlement in Teignbridge and is where 18% of the district's population lived in 2011. The seaside towns of Dawlish and Teignmouth account for a further 11% and 12% of the population respectively. The Authority intends to award a contract to a suitable Contractor who can provide coordination of the Distribution of one 23 litre Outdoor Food Waste Caddy (together with a reusable Recycling Sack, a Leaflet, which is round and day specific and Stickers) to the doorstep of every household in the District of Teignbridge and the Collection of unwanted Wheeled Bins and facilitate end of life recycling of collected product, in time for the roll out of a new recycling service commencing in September 2015.
