Procurement of Gas Servicing and New Gas Heating Audits

Tender description

Norwich City Council works in partnership with its suppliers to undertake the maintenance and servicing of all gas installations in the council housing and non-housing stock. The suppliers are responsible for the maintenance and servicing of gas installations in properties within the current domestic gas servicing contract and non housing maintenance contract. In addition to this, the Council replaces approximately 1,000 domestic gas heating systems per annum through a separate contract. The Council has a duty to comply with the Gas Safety Installations and Use Regulations 1998. The Council has a duty to make sure "all reasonable steps" are taken to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation and it is considered appropriate at this time to carry out a Gas Safety Management Audit on procedures and management systems currently in place to facilitate safe gas work. The specification for this requirement is to undertake a Gas Safety Management Audit of the current contract conditions, processes and procedures of Norwich City Council and its contractors, to ensure compliance with the Gas Safety Installations and Use Regulations 1998, and relevant legislation within the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. In summary our requirement is for a supplier to provide an independent audit of existing contracts, systems, processes and procedures.
