Tender description

Ipswich and East Suffolk and West Suffolk CCGs will be working with Suffolk County Council to commission a primary care mental health service, to start in July 2016. This new service will follow on from the Suffolk Wellbeing Service, delivered by Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust. The existing service is already an IAPT+ model with a strong focus on promoting wellbeing and has a strong and positive relationship with a range of third sector providers. Commissioners want to build on the solid foundation of the current service to develop a stepped care primary care mental health service that: •Provides an all age pathway and has a strong family based approach •Exceeds national IAPT targets •Delivers evidence based interventions •Offers integrated physical and mental health pathways •Removes the gaps between primary and secondary care, supporting more complex needs in primary care •Promotes recovery using an education based approach •Is as accessible as general primary care •Is a partnership with local services and resources that promote wellbeing •Provides training and development of the wider workforce This will be a developmental model, with the future provider working with commissioners over the lifetime of the contract to review and improve the service offered and move towards a more flexible outcome based contracting model. Organisation’s interested in bidding to be the lead contractor for this substantial contract have an opportunity to meet local commissioners to find out more and to share their experience of delivering similar services elsewhere. If you would like to book an appointment to meet some of the local commissioning team involved in this development please contact amanda.dunn@ipswichandeastsuffolkccg.nhs.uk . Appointments will be on either the 13th or 24th April in the Ipswich area. There will be other opportunities for providers not wanting to be the lead contractor but interested in working with them advertised in due course. If you would like us to contact you about this please email amanda.dunn@ipswichandeastsuffolkccg.nhs.uk Further Information For an overview of Suffolk and its population see: www.healthysuffolk.org.uk/joint-strategic-needs-assessment-jsna/fly-through-suffolk/suffolk-overview-video/ www.suffolkobservatory.info/IAS/profiles/profile?profileId=34&geoTypeId=14&geoIds=42 The Suffolk Mental Health Needs assessment can be found at: www.healthysuffolk.org.uk/joint-strategic-needs-assessment-jsna/reports/NA/MHNA/ www.healthysuffolk.org.uk/joint-strategic-needs-assessment-jsna/fly-through-suffolk/suffolk-mental-health-video/
