Tree Removal Works, River Dodder Phases 2C - 2E

Tender description

Dublin City Council seek suitably qualified contractor for proposed works involving the removal and crowning of trees by suitably qualified personnel along the River Dodder, Dublin. Specific trees to be removed or crowned are identified in the tender drawings (Drg No. 5911: 400-402_404-410). The works shall involve both in-river and river side works. The purpose of these works are two fold,  Site clearance for permanent flood defences as part of the River Dodder Flood Alleviation Scheme Phase 2C-2E  As part of ongoing river maintenance and flood prevention which removes degrading, unstable and unsafe trees on the river edge. Dublin City Council River Dodder Tree Removal Works Phase 2C-2E Volume A Works Requirements All works undertaken in the maintenance of trees shall be carried out in compliance with the relevant current British Standard:  BS 3998:2010 – Tree Work. Recommendations  BS 5837:2012 – Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction. Recommendations. All works are to be completed in compliance with the Wildlife Act of 1976 and Forestry Act of 1946. Location of the Works The works are located along the River Dodder in Dublin as shown on drawings 5911: 400-402_404-410 extend between Smurfit weir in Clonskeagh and the Lansdowne Railway Bridge. Only trees that are specifically noted to be removed shall be removed. The area between Ball’s Bridge and Hebert Park Hotel Bridge on both left and right banks and the area on the right bank No 18 and No 21 Anglesea Road (Dun Luce & Somerset) is removed from this commission.
