Market Engagement Event Tier 3 Obesity Service

Tender description

The Tier 3 Obesity Service is designed for obese individuals who have not responded to previous interventions; these should be comprised of a multi-disciplinary team of specialists, led by a clinician and typically includes: a physician (consultant or GP with Special Interest); a specialist nurse; specialist dietician; psychologist or psychiatrist; and physiotherapist / physical activity specialist. The overall aim of the service is to reduce the obesity rate in Essex and prevent related illness. In turn, the aim of the service is also to lower the number of patients needing referral into Tier 4 bariatric surgery. The CCGs would like to invite potential providers to join us at our market engagement event where we will explain the vision for the service going forward. We would also like to receive input from experienced professionals into the service specification and model of delivery going forward. This is a unique opportunity to shape the way these services are delivered. This event will take place on Tuesday 17th March between 10.30am – 2.30pm, Witham Community Association, Spring Lodge Community Centre, Powers Hall End, Witham, Essex, CM8 2HE Commissioners will give a brief presentation setting out the background of this service across Essex to date following which providers will be invited to attend individual sessions with commissioners to discuss possible ideas for the service in more detail.
