Tender description

The overall aim of the service is to develop local, direct access non-obstetric ultrasound provision for adults with staff qualified to appropriate levels of skill and experience using ultrasound equipment which complies with guidance set out by the Royal College of Radiologists, utilising connections to the NHS image transfer solutions that operates within robust performance management systems with stringent levels of clinical governance and audit processes. The service is intended to aid early diagnostics and avoid the need for unnecessary referral to secondary care for conditions that can be appropriately managed within a Primary Care setting or to support the shift of activity in to a primary care setting, where this will improve access.
