Tender description

Mulranny Village is located on the N59 Newport to Achill Island National Secondary road. The proposed upgrade works will include online widening of the existing carriageway over two sections as follows; Section 1 Ch 740 to Ch 1,000 widened to incorporate on-street parking and footpaths. Paved amenity areas are proposed to the south (seaside) of the N59. Section 2 Ch1,000 to Ch1,700 cycleways to be incorporated into the eastbound and westbound carriageways. Collectively the works will include construction of pavement overlay, surface water drainage, foul sewer alterations, laying new watermain section, public lighting alterations, trenches and ducting for utility diversions, extensive areas of block paving to garage forecourts including off-street parking areas, road marking, signage, street furniture, tree planting and traffic management. Construction works will also include earth retaining structures comprising of reinforced concrete retaining walls and high quality Gabion Baskets earth retaining measures.
