Tender description

1. Background Dun Laoghaire - Rathdown County Council invites tender submissions in relation to providing skip hire, skip transport and waste disposal services. 2. Facilities The locations relevant to this tender are: • Ballyogan Road Depot, Ballyogan Road 3. Nature of Contract. The quantity of waste collected by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council’s Cleansing Section is approximately 2,500 tonnes per annum. This contract is for the supply, transport (including connecting and disconnecting from the compactors) of skips and the disposal of the waste collected. Compactor Skip – Cleansing Waste There is currently a static compactor located in the depot which requires a roll on roll off 35 cubic yard enclosed compactor skip to store the waste. This skip is currently being emptied once a week. Waste from litterbins, general clean up material and illegally dumped material is disposed of into this compactor skip. There is approximately 700 tonnes of this type of waste collected annually. Open top skip – Cleansing Waste There is also a roll on/roll off open top skip (varies in size from 20 cubic yard to 35 cubic yard) that is emptied approximately 3 times a week. The contents of this skip (made up mainly of road sweeping material) are approximately 1,800 tonnes annually. The screened fines element (all litter and flyover material removed) of the skip have undergone an AT4 test and WAC analysis. On the basis of the results of the AT4 and WAC analysis, the screened fines element (all litter and flyover material removed) of the open top skip can be used as daily landfill cover at the Drehid facility, Co. Kildare. Other licensed facilities may have different parameters or WAC and any tenderer should consider this when submitting a tender. Samples can be made available for collection by appointment by any potential tenderer during the tender process.
