Tender description

The Department of Defence invites tenders for the procurement, installation and commissioning of two replacement electronic speed control units for the two onboard LE Roisin, with the option of the same on LE Niamh. The Naval Service (NS) currently utilises the Viking 22-2G electronic speed control unit in conjunction with the Wartsila W26V16 main engines (ME) in both of its LPV patrol vessels. The NS intends to initially procure 2 (two) replacement electronic speed control units for the two Wartsila W26V16 MEs, onboard LE Roisin. As an option, the NS seeks additional quotations for the replacement, of the electronic speed control units for the 2 (two) Wartsila W26V16 MEs, onboard LE Niamh. Procurement of up to 4 (four) electronic speed control units will take place in 2014. Further to this, the Naval Service seeks quotations for the installation and commissioning of these electronic speed control units. It is intended to install and commission these systems in early 2015 during the vessels refit periods.
