Tender description

Equipment to conduct stable isotope probing analysis of microbial communities is requested. This includes: i) bench top ultracentrifuge ii) a fixed angle rotor for 2.0ml tubes iii) a near vertical angle rotor for 3.9ml tubes iv) A tube topper sealer v) and a fraction recovery system. This is required to carry out separation of heavy and light labelled DNA and RNA from stable isotope probing experiments to aid in the identification of active micro- organisms within test microcosms. To separate labelled from unlabelled nucleic acids a benchtop ultracentrifuge with near vertical rotors , for small volume tubes Quick-Seal® tubes, followed by gradient fractionation using fraction recovery system and a tube Topper Sealer is required.
