Provision of site specific conservation objectives for a suite of upland Annex 1 habitats within Special Areas of Conservation

Tender description

Since 2009, the National Parks and Wildlife Service of DAHG, has been preparing detailed site-specific conservation objectives for Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs) in Ireland. To date, detailed conservation objectives have been published for over 90 Natura 2000 sites (these are published on a site-by-site basis as they are prepared at http://www.npws.ie/protectedsites/). Conservation objectives are based on the principle of defining favourable conservation condition for a particular habitat or species at a site level by identifying suitable attributes with targets. This process of preparing detailed site-specific conservation objectives is continuing with a suite of largely upland SACs. These sites have been surveyed by the National Survey of Upland Habitats (NSUH).
