Clerk of Works Position for St. Johns JNS and St. Pauls SNS

Tender description

The position advertised id for a Clerk of Works to provide support for design team involved in the phased demolition of the two existing school buildings and prefabs, phased construction of a new 2 storey, 7570m2 combined school building and all associated site works including set down areas and staff parking for 114 cars. The contract is envisaged to be 31 months. The employer will be the Boards of Management, St. John’s Junior and St. Pauls Senior. Candidates should not submit a tender price as this is set as follows- Payment will be on the basis of fees, not salary. VAT will be paid at 23% for a VAT registered candidates. The annual pre-VAT fee will be €48,526.00 on a full time basis. Fees will be paid on the hourly attendance as certified by the Project Architect. The calculation of the hourly rate will be as follows; annual fee / 52.18 weeks / 39 hours per week and if attendance is less than 39 hours per week then payment will be on a pro-rata basis. As the tender price is a set fee, the assessment of the most economically advantageous tender will be determined upon the quality assessment criteria calculated against a fixed price criteria of €48,526.00 per annum plus VAT. This means that the assessment of each tender will be in fact based only on the quality criteria and the price component calculations set out in section 9.1 -9.5 will be the same for all tenders. Furthermore all references to tender pricing in the Instructions to Tenders will not apply in this case, in particular section 5.5 and sections 8.1-8.3. The contract was awarded to Mr. John Monahan
