Waterford city and county council framework for the repair and replacement of vehicle restrain systems

Framework Agreement for a panel of suitable contractors for the repair and replacement of VRS (Safety Barriers) on Single Carriageway National Roads in Co Waterford. Waterford City & County Council ( WCCC) (“the Contracting Authority”) has identified an on-going need for Contractors for the carrying out of replacement and repairs to Vehicle Restraint Systems on National Road single carriageway in the County of Waterford. These works may be a result of programme replacement of defective VRS or repairs following vehicle impact. WCCC proposes to establish and operate a Framework Agreement for the provision of these works which will ensure the availability of a number of suitably qualified Contractors who are capable of providing services in relation to these types of works. The Contracting Authority has decided that the best way of fulfilling its requirements is through the award of a Framework Agreement (“FA”). Anticipated duration of the Framework Agreement will be for 6 months from date ofaward of the Framework Agreement with option to extend for a further two years. It is estimated that approximately €80000 value of works will be carried out in 2014. However this is not a guarantee of the value of future works in the proposed Framework, as these works will be subject to the availability of funding. It is envisaged that the Public Works Contract for Minor Building and Civil Engineering Works designed by the employer will govern contracts for these works. In some cases the Short Form of Contract may be used.
