The scheme involves the strengthening and repair of Sallaghan Bridge which is a 5 span masonry arch structure carrying the L-2513 local road across the River Erne in Co Cavan. The Bridge Rehabilitation Scheme is to involve the undertaking of the following works: Taking down and rebuilding displaced sections of stone masonry arch barrel, spandrel wall and parapet walls. Strengthening of the arches by the provision of reinforced concrete saddles over each arch and concrete backing above the abutments and piers. Masonry repairs comprising crack stitching, pinning and general repointing. Deck waterproofing. Reinstatement of the carriageway surfacing and drainage system. Traffic management.
