Tender description
As part of ‘The Putting Patients, Clients and Families First’ project the CAWT partnership has secured European Union INTEREG IVA funding for the CAWT Diabetes project to provide structured patient education to children and young people with diabetes and their parents/carers across all of Northern Ireland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland. A diabetes education programme called CHOICE has been developed for children and young people with diabetes and is currently being delivered by specialist staff to improve knowledge and understanding of diabetes and to support children and young people with diabetes and their parents/carers to manage their diabetes as effectively as possible. There are two versions of the CHOICE programme. One is for children and young people who take insulin injections (MDI patients) and the other version is for children and young people who have an insulin pump (insulin pump patients). Each version of the CHOICE programme is made up of 15 modules. The CAWT Interreg IVA Diabetes project seeks to appoint a provider to develop a website which will be an information source for children and young people with diabetes and their parents / carers, including graduates of the CHOICE programme. The information on the website will be based on the CHOICE structured patient education programme. Website users will have the option to select which version of the CHOICE programme they want to access i.e. CHOICE for MDI patients or Modified CHOICE for Insulin Pump Users.The end product should be highly interactive, with graphics lively, attractive and engaging. The package should supply user friendly content that includes text, pictures, video, you tube clips, PDF and presentations to meet the aim and learning outcomes of the CHOICE programme. Intellectual Property Rights, including the assets of any internal Trust module development are owned by the Public Health Agency. The website will be a resource primarily for children/young people.
