LIDDELL RD- KINGSGATE SCHOOL MIXED DEVELOPMENT CAMDEN NW6: ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN TEAM

Tender description

Camden Council is seeking to procure a suitably experienced Architectural Design Team to design the ambitious mixed development scheme on an existing commercial / light industrial use site in West Hampstead in consultation with relevant stakeholders. The scheme, part of Camden’s Community Investment Programme, involves the redevelopment of the Council owned site on Liddell Road, NW6 in order to accommodate the expansion of Kingsgate Primary School. The initial feasibility study has been commissioned. The new school is to be funded by the new housing to be built on this site, together with new commercial spaces to be re-provided. The project (estimated cost £45 Million) is to be entirely self- funded, delivered via a Design & Build contract with various options still being explored. The required services include: Architects; Landscape Designer; M&E and Structural Engineers; Sustainability and Planning Advisor. The anticipated start is January 2014; design is initially to RIBA Stage D/E with an option to deliver through to completion, subject to council approval/ options appraisal. Construction is expected to start in Spring of 2015 –and complete by Autumn of 2016.
