*****This contract has been awarded to SAI Global***** The Tender partners now wish to invite suitably qualified certification bodies to tender for a contract to provide surveillance assessments and re-certification services that deliver a high level of integrity and credibility of market recognition of the validity of certification maintenance for the bottom grown mussel sector operating in Northern Ireland and Ireland (2 linked certificates) The successful tenderer will provide surveillance assessments and re-certification of the sector on the Island of Ireland in the client grouping to the standards required in the FAO Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries i.e - Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Standard and certification scheme for Sustainable Fisheries /FAO Based RFM Certification • July 2014 – Surveillance Report • July 2015 – Surveillance Report • July 2016 – Surveillance Report • July 2017 – Re-assessment Report The surveillance and re-certification will be available for all eligible bottom mussel businesses on the Island of Ireland and include both the wild harvesting of seed and the re- laying, on-growing and harvesting of marketable mussels. In support of this the tender parties wish to obtain two parallel certificates (Northern Ireland and Ireland) maintaining the credibility of the certificates to each jurisdiction in its own right.
