Tender description

In 2006 University of Limerick (the “Authority”) undertook an OJEC competition (2006/S143-029964 and 2006/S143- 029968) for the appointment of a design team for the construction of the University Arena Extension (the “Project”). The Project proceeded through completion of Stage ii(a) including preparation of tender documents. Planning permission for the University Arena Extension was granted in August 2007. This planning permission was subsequently extended and is now valid until August 2017. Following delays to the project, the project has now been re- activated. As a result of the liquidation of the originally appointed Civil / Structural Engineer and Mechanical & Electrical Engineer (“Original Consultants”) it is now intended as part of this new procurement process to appoint a replacement Civil / Structural Engineer and a replacement Mechanical & Electrical Engineer (“Replacement Consultants”). Applicants are advised that they will be required to provide full design team services on the project. Applicants will also be required to fully assess design work undertaken on the project by the “Original Consultants” and take on full responsibility for this existing design work where relied upon in the delivery of the project.
