Culture is a corporate priority across all departments in Dublin City Council. The Arts are at the heart of Dublin’s cultural identity. The City Arts Office is the Specialist Unit within the City Council that provides the experience, skills and knowledge to facilitate quality artistic provision for those living, working in and visiting the city. The City Arts Plan sets out the purpose and area of work of the City Arts Office, that underpins its curated programmes and structured resources. Public Art has played a central role in changing people’s perception of the arts. The Dublin City Public Art Programme offers potential for the enduring artwork as well as temporary or time based work. It provides scope for artists to present their work to a wide and diverse audience and it also recognises that the quiet and fragile can be as powerful as the conspicuous. The current draft of the Arts Plan for the period 2014 – 2018 includes the key objectives and deliverables of the Dublin City Arts Office. Dublin City Council wishes to invite submissions from highly motivated and suitably qualified individuals for the provision of Public Art Management role, on a contract for services basis.
