supply of an integrated laser shearography system for non- destructive testing of polymer composite materials and structures. The system will be used in a research capacity at the University of Limerick and should allow collaboration with other Irish and UK universities, other European research institutions and industry. Technical Specifications Specific requirements: The laser shearography system will allow detecting subsurface defects (resin dryspots, fibre waviness, macro voids, disbonds etc) and accidental damage (impact damage, delamination, skin-core debonding etc) in polymer composite laminates and sandwich panels. It should have dedicated hardware for testing and software for postprosessing.
