Provision of a Secure Email Service

Tender description

The Health Service Executive (HSE) invites tenders from suitably qualified service providers to provide a secure email service to the HSE. The aim of this project is to put in place a private and secure email system to allow non-HSE staff working in the community to communicate patient identifiable clinical information to health professionals in primary and secondary care. The secure email service will commence with general practitioners and their support staff. The scope of the project is intended to cover all health service providers that do not have a @hse.ie or Voluntary Hospital email account. Such users will be issued with a secure webmail account to use the service. The connection between the secure webmail service and the HSE mail servers will be secured using Transport Layer Security (TLS). The system allows HSE and voluntary hospital staff to use their existing @hse.ie or @mater.ie addresses to communicate securely with secure email users. HSE staff do not need a second email address.
