Greentown Environmental Ltd. have been awarded the contract for the control of weeds in Dublin City Council. 6 no. tenderers have been received . Dublin City Council invites tenders from competent service providers for the provision of a service for the spraying of appropriate weed control agents on public roads, laneways, footways, medians and other areas taken in charge by Dublin City Council. The first spray should take place between April and June. Additional spraying may be necessary as required. Some areas may require a second spray in August / September. The geographical extent of this contract includes the area inside the Dublin City boundary. The overall length of roads and laneways is approximately 1121km. There are an estimated 21,500 trees on public roadways / footpaths in the city council’s administrative area.
